Whilst on holiday in Kenya and visiting the Masai Mara game reserve, before coming to Cyprus, I was trying to get as many photo's as possible as this was probably going to be our last holiday out there.
We were driving along when suddenly spotted this baby giraffe all by itself. It was quite young in giraffe years and looked so forlorn standing out on it's own.
Me being me, was quite concerned it had been abandoned and would get attacked by lions which were not that far away.  Not that we could really interfere with nature. Our guide remarked  that the adults would be nearby although none of us could spot them.
On the way back from viewing other animals I asked if we could pass that way again. I still felt sad for the poor little thing. But there, was the sight we all wanted to see. Mum and Dad and another youngster all together again. Back to camp happy again and relieved all was well.

My picture of Mum and babe.

Next week I will be learning how to decorate gourds. The government have arranged for villagers to learn a craft. It is being held for a few days a week over a couple of weeks, so will have some intense learning sessions.  Also hopefully will get to practise some greek as well. Hope I make it.
I will be taking photo's and will let you know each week how it goes.
Thought it would make a nice change to the usual stories from Africa and around.

Have got on well with my stormy sea scene. I am enjoying doing it and trying to make it slightly 3D effect.  Still work to be done on the sea and boat.
Sorry if I make any of you feel slightly queasy and sea sick!!

Come back next week to read how the week went. Hectic I think.
