5/1/2019

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2019.

I have decided on a lion picture for my next one. There is rather a touching feeling about dad and his cub.

One I did many years ago.

And a couple of my lion photo's until I get started on the picture. With all the festive seasons I now have to get back into the swing of things, pick up my pastels and get going.

 Life in Africa.

Our second child is due and after several false events, the time has come. I have been under the care of a small mission hospital which is on the other side of the town.  Klaus grabs everything needed and me, and we arrive at the little clinic only to find the gates are closed. Shouting and calling out did not bring anyone to our help.  No mobiles in those days, so we will have to drive back into town and find a phone. Not easy in the early hours of the morning!  We get back to the local post office which has a couple of pay phones outside, so while Klaus follows slowly in the car I half run to each phone to find one which will work.  Thank god the last one did, this was not the time to be playing around, and I  managed to get through to the clinic.  Seemed they had had wild dogs in the grounds and were rather concerned about it.
After a rather long and tiring day, our daughter was finally born. What a fuss and bother a tiny little baby can cause!   Why could I have not been like the lady in the next room who I stopped to talk to and admire her knitting. On passing by about 10 mins later, there she was sitting in bed with a handsome baby boy. how did she manage that!!!   Took me nearly another  day. No modern monitors, or scans in those days. We now have two beautiful girls.
