My buffalo is slowly emerging. Now I have to tackle the rough, hairy hide and try and make it into the old tough animal that it is.

Life in Africa.

The company that Klaus runs is building the new capitol offices here in Lilongwe. A very large project as you can see from the pictures I have of it completed.  This is where you wish more photo's were taken of past times, but getting films developed was rather hard. No camera's like we have today or camera on phones.  I know that from looking on the internet now, the whole area and town are very modern and I would not recognise the place anymore.

Klaus's boss has now moved to another area so we are moving into his house.  A lovely house with a great view, and a fish/frog pond.  This is a little larger than the previous one but better as we have a lovely surprise, and need the extra room.  The patter of little feet.

Our daughter Deborah, now we are a real family

We also have 'Bambi' a little dik dik which was rescued when it was  very tiny. There was a bush fire on the building site and the mother was killed, so some of the workmen brought the kid to Klaus. I reared it up. Bottle feeding and then what to eat. Thankfully we had him before Debbie came along. Two hungry babies would have been hard work especially if one got the wrong food. Don't think Debbie would have enjoyed buds and grass!.  Bambi was a family pet for many years.  This is the only picture that I have of him.     A favourite picture of mine. So cute

Bambi was well known for creeping up behind you and pinching drinks out of glasses if you were sitting out on the veranda.
He also loved hiding in the bushes and charging out at our gardener, especially if he was cleaning out the fish pond and using his little horns!! There would be loud shouts and curses, but at the same time Panniko would pick the tasty buds from bushes to give to Bambi.
Thankfully the dogs and Bambi all got on very well. Even our cat would playfully stalk him around the garden and then have a cuddle up together.

Take care wherever you are in the world and see you next week.
