Some more work on the horns. These really are rough and gouged and will take some time trying to get them looking right. Maybe the buffalo can go for a wallow in the mud and make them smoother for me.
I have also worked on the little tick bird as well.

Life in Africa.

We have now moved down to Blantyre for Klaus's work.  A new house for us to move into and I have been busy making some curtains and settling into married life.
Luckily the company provide us with the basic furniture, and mum has passed on some spare things to us. No going into big supermarkets and home ware stores here, like we have now here these days. But we do have some local Indian run stores where you can get most everyday things and  anything made up  by  a local tailor. The neighbours across the road who are in banking have become good friends and the wife has been helping me with the sewing etc. That feeling of walking around and putting your own personal touches in the house, and feeling proud of what you have done. No T.V.  so we enjoy putting a couple of records on the old lift up lid record player.  Klaus's  one real possession! Oh, and me!
We have a nice bungalow with a large garden, and thankfully we also have a gardener.  'Cookie watches over me like a hawk, especially on Sunday's his day off when I cook Sunday lunch. I know he quietly comes into the kitchen at the back of the house to check on what I am doing.   A stir here and an extra pinch of salt and herbs there. The cooker is an old wood burning stove, so I am grateful he keeps an eye on the wood and how it is burning. Now days some posh modern houses have these, we had no choice then. Hopefully one day might get an electric cooker!  At least we do have a fridge. Starting to sound like I lived in ancient days.
