This picture is now finished and will be  ready for framing. I have enjoyed doing this one.

My next picture is of unicorns and some make believe. I had been thinking about an African animal, but felt this might appeal better at the craft shop.  I am getting the idea from a picture, as unfortunately I don't have any photo's of unicorns. They ran away before I got the camera out!!  Should have fun making up a picture as I go along.

Unicorns drawn out ready, now the thinking cap has to go on for the rest of the picture.  I think I know what I want to do, but will have to see if I can manage it.

BORNEO.

Today we are visiting an orchid garden and also hope to see the very rare Rothschild's Slipper Orchid,  a very valuable orchid I am told.  Yes, we are in luck. They were certainly a beautiful orchid, not that you could get that close up, as  these were behind glass and fencing.  Valuable.  I did read somewhere it takes 15 years to grow.

The Rothschild's Slipper Orchid

Some other pretty orchids just growing on the trees in the park.

This is one of the smallest orchids growing. Size of a pin head, I had to enlarge it several times on the camera. You could easily have walked past it and not noticed the flower.

Not an orchid, but spectacular . A Nepenthes  ( tropical pitcher plant) catches insects to eat.

I also like growing orchids, but nothing like the ones in the wild. Mine I find are very finicky and take a lot of love and care, but worth all the effort.

This yellow one was my very first one, now about 7 years old and the blooms last for several months.

Have a great week and catch up next week with me.
