I have had a good week on the picture. Two birds appearing now, eyes starting to watch my progress. Just hope I don't get pecked!
Now comes the rest of the body and defining the feathers with that glossy look they always have.
Then it is just filling in the other areas as I get to them. The ground is not the easiest of areas to do.



                                                                   

               

GOURDS.

The season is now back on and some the new gourds which have been hanging up to dry are now being prepared for carving into new and fancy designs.

Newly picked gourds off the vine hanging up to dry.  This takes several months.

                                                                   

                                                    


Next stage is the one that are ready get soaked to help soften the outside skin ready for peeling.


                                                                  

Now it's time for the scrapping and peeling off the outer skin. A messy job!

                                                             

Several gourd stripped of their outer skins put out to dry before hanging up in the shed until they are completely dried out. this takes a few weeks of waiting!!
