I have chosen one of my favourite birds to do. Magpies. I love listening to them chattering away to themselves, We had a pair bring up a cuckoo a couple of years ago. As you know a cuckoo lays it's egg in another birds nest to be hatched and brought up. We had great fun watching ours being fed and looked after. Thankfully our magpies out here do not seem to go for any other birds nests or their young in the garden. But I do feed all the birds in the garden everyday.
I was thinking back to my mother who when I was young used to paint little pictures for me. I remember having one of 'Noddy and Big Ears' at the seaside. I can still picture it now. I used to love these books and often we would draw pictures together. Maybe this is where I was encouraged to try and be creative. At school it was always volcano's erupting, why, I am not sure but I had a thing for painting them. I have seen one erupting, and what a sight that was, but not when I was a child.
GOURDS.
Most of the new gourds have been picked now in the garden and are hanging up to dry.
