23/9/2017

Slowly but surely I am going down the picture. More work on the robes then filling in the background which does not look that special at the moment. At the end I will touch up here and there with soft pastel to brighten and bring out a shrub or two.
I am now going down the bank at the side. In the picture it looks something like marble, but maybe I will have to make it look a little more realistic. But we do have a sprinkling of flowers growing!

Cyprus Life.

Last week we went on a surprise trip for a friends birthday.
So come with me on the old bus/coach, usually used for wedding parties and also excursions like this one.
We rattle off and after a mile with grating gears we grind to a halt. No way are we pushing I can hear being called out, yes, that includes me!
With some help the driver gets the right gear and off we go again. This happens a couple of times until someone shows the driver how the gears go. I heard there are  a lot of gears. We ended up using two maybe three. We honked the car round the corners, warning other drivers we are coming as we picked up a little more speed and waved to passers by. This is such a friendly country, everyone goes out of their way to wave you on.

We all wondered where we were heading and passed by a few winery signs, but no, we kept trundling along. Gears grating but the bus happily chugged along.A sing song or two to help, washed down by the minature bottles of wine that had been given to each person when boarding, in a school lunch bag idea with water and crisps.
The country side although dry and dusty was as always a picture to see.

Where are we going, not to that village, maybe thete, but no, are real wonder.
The bus finally pulls up on the road outside the Tsangarides         Winery.
Avery happy group pile out of the bus and we make our way to allocated tables, where wine flows and salad and BBQ chicken and pork with tatties await us.Plates of cold melon and grapes for dessert. Bliss washed down with a delightful chilled rose wine.
What can be nicer than sitting with friends, under cluster of grapes enjoying the good life.
A short walk around the winery, the size of the machinery, and oh, what would I give to roll one of those barrels home! well, maybe a bottle or two!

The bus took us all home, no problems, wonder if the stopping and starting is part of the fun drive.

We are very lucky and blessed to live here, with very special friends around us.Old and new.
                                                    Bless you all.
