It seems within seconds we are bumping along the track breathing in the dust that seems to billow up from behind us and swirl around. Birds are starting to gather to roost in the trees and the cicadas are in full performance. The aroma of animals scents the air, there is nothing like it to stimulate the senses. We round a bend and spot and elephant scratching his back against the tree. How these big fellows can blend in so well that you can so easily pass them and not see them.
Some baboons on the plod home for the night.

Another elephant and then the sky is darkening, time to get back to camp. A hot shower, luckily we have our own at the back of the hut, might have to share it with a frog or two. Food and something to drink and an early night. Not forgetting to check there is nothing hiding under the camp-bed.
We are flying up to the next camp after an early mornings drive tomorrow.

Back from my break away to England and catching up with the family and friends. I have not done very much painting at the moment,as I now have a problem with my shoulders, rather painful, but managed to do some more of the robins.
Slowly but surely getting there, will be much better once the soft pastel goes in.
See you next week and hopefully will have been able to get a little more done. Getting frustrated!!
