I have always loved animals, reptiles etc, although I can't stand slugs. Horrible slimy things. Why did they have to forget their houses. They should  just be nice like a little snail!
Living out in Africa I have been brought up with the gentlest of creatures and also the wildest. Going out with a friend to collect snakes to be released back into the wild, and picking up an injured monkey to be treated. A friend giving me an injured bird to be looked after, or rescuing a chameleon from a busy road. I still stop to let a snake cross the road.
This was Bambi a young Dik Dik I had from a few days old. It's mother had been killed in a bush fire and Klaus brought it home to me to rear. Some african workers had brought it onto the building site where he was working. Bambi had to be bottle fed every few hours but he made it with love and care, and became one of the family. A little rogue in chasing our gardener around the garden, sipping at your drinks, and playfully butting you if you bent over. He grew nice tiny sharp horns!!

 Bambi with Debi

I look back at other times and think I must have been mad.

Who cuddles one of these where a snap at your neck and I would be dead, or has one of these grazing a few yards away.  Yes, a large rhino. And it is wild!

Quite impressed with this new paper, although I expect when I have used up the couple of free pages I had , will not be able to buy anymore. I will have to to start looking on the internet. What would we do without it.
My bird is coming along, making feathers look like feathers and some life in the eyes. Other animal eyes are easier to get life into than a birds!

Do catch up with us again next week.
