Africa Calls.

Chapter 26.

They had got soaked making a dash for the land rover and several times on the way back had nearly got bogged down.
Dave and Jenny declined coming back to the camp, they wanted to get back to their room and get dried off and then would have to debrief at the parks office. The power's to be had been informed of the capture and the outcome, it was now all in the hands of the law.
They all suggested meeting up later that evening for a farewell drink. They may not have known each other for long, but had become friends. Dave and Jenny made there way off to one of the nearby patrol cars for a lift to the station. Walking back to their transport and Thomas, both Nick and Dawn felt rather drained, but the thrill of what had gone on still left a little tremor in their stomachs
That night sitting on their little veranda, listening to the hippos snorting away happily in the river they clinked glasses to the outcome of the day.
"Both men are under lock and key and heavy charges have been made against them. They don't really have a leg to stand on. They were caught red handed. The Arab as he was known, we now know was Prince Hassan, who has disgraced his family with all these illegal and corrupt dealings. His father the king did not know of his illegal dealings. He thought his love for animals was genuine and obtained legally. He has banished him from the country. The animals will be returned to their rightful countries or donated to well known zoos who have offered to help in these kind of cases.
Dave then went on to tell them what he had heard about the partner Patel and Samson the driver, Tabu the guard they were fairly sure had either been killed or died in the park. Nobody had seen him since he left for this job."
"What a way to go even if they deserved it" said Dawn with a shiver.

There was a loud screech out in the night, it made them all start, and a blood curdling howl.

Something touched Dawns shoulder. She leaped up with a scream. Shivers ran down her spine.

"Hey sleepy head, you dropped off over your holiday brochure. If we hurry up we have just enough time to book that  dream safari you have always wanted " said Nick bending over and kissing her forehead.

Was this just a dream or a premonition of what was to come!
