A warm sunny greeting to you all.   New Fish recipe out as well.

Following on from last weeks blog where I was training in a hairdressers, I was lucky enough to meet several different countries ambassadors wives.
I was asked by the Japanese and Nigerian embassies if I would like to model their prospective countries national dress in an  international charity fund raiser.
This was going to be quite an event, not something that happens very often in those days. I was quite chuffed to have been asked and looked forward to the event. This was also going to be filmed for showing in I presume embassies. We did get to watch a showing of it.
It was arranged by the Japanese embassy that I was picked up and taken to their home where I was taught how to walk properly in a kimono costume, whilst one was chosen for me to wear. It was all gold and turquoise , with the bump, bustle tied at the back. I luckily had long hair so it could be arranged up with 'chopsticks' stuck into it. Sorry for the wrong term. Can't think what they were called now. I had beautiful coral and pearl jewellery to wear, and loved every session I had. Being driven in a limo to and from the ambassadors house and back to ours. I felt like royalty. This costume made me feel really elegant and beautiful.  It was nearly the same for the Nigerian embassy, although their I did not have to take little steps wearing the clogs and white socks like I had to for the Japanese costume.
I did however have a flower in my hair, being a young maiden in costume, which some of the male models smirked at. Seemed it sent the message I was ready for marriage!. Glad I was only told afterwards.
Just sorry there were no pictures of this to put on the blog.

Picture of the week a Masai warrior.
Hopefully back into the 'wild' next time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week I have been busy gradually filling in 'Ratty'  First one of the ears and then moving across to the other one. This picture does not really show up the different colours I found in the rats ear. More to see next time.

We have also hung up all my pictures and created an art gallery.

Many thanks to the team at  www.mandoraprint.com  for the excellent leaflets they designed and printed for me.

Come back next week to see how 'Ratty' is coming on.
