Greetings to all who follow me from all over the world. It's really lovely to see so many people interested in following my blog. Many thanks to you all.

As we had decided not to have a pool this time round, we had decided to have and ordered a swim spa. This was the first in Cyprus, so the company and us were eagerly waiting to see it.
When it arrived, none of us had realised it was quite that big. Klaus had already had to built a concrete base for it to stand on. We did not want it sunk into the ground as we needed to access the motor and pipes in case of a fault.
The vans arrived and lots of people, and then the crane to lift it into the garden. Everybody moved around, and got ready to help guide it in. It was going to have to come over the house, as that was the best access to our garden and where we wanted it.The crane had to find the right position in the field to be able to swing the spa over, missing the trees that were around. An odd branch here and there had to be cut off. This was certainly not one of the easiest jobs being done.

A lot of talking, arm waving and calling out of instructions. A few gasps and holding of breath. Well, it's gradually getting there.Thank heavens we had a flat roof, otherwise it would have been even more difficult to get it over.

This took a lot of shouting, manoeuvring, and precision to get this from the road, over the field and then over the house to the correct place.
Well done to all.
Watching out for the glass in the patio doors and not to damage anything. A lot of cups of tea and coffee were made! A brandy might have gone down well too!
Looking at it now could easily keep a whale happily in it. Can't wait to get in and swim against the current. Least I should be able to keep fit!

A couple of the villagers came to stand and watch, great excitement, and something to watch and talk about in the day. Finally here and all in one piece.
Now we only have to give it a good clean and take of all the protective paper, and then fill it up.
The spa has turned out to be fantastic, heated up when needed, but in the summer weather we can switch off the heating and leave it to the sun.The water is cool enough to be pleasant, but not icy cold to make your toes turn up like an ordinary pool.
This was definitely our one little luxury, but well worth the money. Can see us sitting with friends, relaxing away all those aches in the bubbles, then enjoying a BBQ. This is what you can call retirement!!
There is nothing like sitting in the jacuzzi side with a glass of wine looking up at the stars on a lovely warm night. Heavenly.

All the family enjoying themselves with us while out on holiday. The kids loved diving in and out of the jet currants
Too busy chatting and relaxing to have our glass of  wine.

Picture from Cyprus this week.

One of  the feral cats who we look after, who also keep the rodents and snakes away in the garden.
What nicer place to sunbathe than in the hanging basket!!

This is to be the new picture. Something different. I have been told there is an exhibition later on in the year with a mariner theme. Sea, beaches, boats etc, so will have a go.
This was taken down at the local harbour in Latchi, I just liked it, especially the eye.

Hope you will join me next  week when I will have started the picture.
