Today was a lovely clear day, so thought we would play hooky from the daily routine and all the stress of selling up and go up to Troodos to see the snow.
We have waited until the weather was a little better, knowing that the roads up there when wet, could be a little scary. Did not fancy the idea of plummeting down the mountain, never to be seen again!
It was a lovely drive and with spectacular views. The scent of the pines on the way up, but very little bird life to be seen. We stopped off along the way to stretch our legs and look at the scenery. This was not our first time up here, only a first in winter weather.
Driving up to start with no snow around, so felt it had probably all melted away, maybe should have come earlier in the winter months. Then coming round a corner, there it was, snow. Would think we had never seen this white fluffy stuff in all our life, but this was different. This is Cyprus snow!

Well, it was an attempt at a snowman.

 Everywhere pretty as a picture. We had great fun snowballing, even at our age, and clambering around in the snow.
After all this hard work nothing better than popping into the taverna for a cup of coffee and a snack lunch. I think this will be our last play in the snow for awhile, you can have too much of a good thing!

Play time over, back down the long winding, road to home. House hunting next week.

As you can see the family are coming along nicely. I have nearly finished the little baby, next it will be Pappa elephant.

Debi and Nick were thrilled with their picture of Darwin, and it now has pride of place on the lounge wall.
