The sky is turning a beautiful golden, rosy colour as the sun starts to rise. Time to have a stroll along the waterfront before having breakfast and then starting off to visit one of the last temples we will see out here. Our holiday will soon be at an end, I will be quite sad to leave this friendly, beautiful country.
We arrive at the temple and it looks spectacular from up on the road
The filigree work along the tiles and the vibrancy of colours leaves you looking up at the majestic curves and graceful sweep of the roofs.
I cannot wait to take my shoes off and go inside. Monks walk quietly past you, and an old lady is sweeping up some fallen blossoms off the paths.
We go inside into the refreshing cool of the building, bliss.
Looking around, where to start, I could take all these statues home with me. They are awesome!
This is really something, the size of them, the detail of each one, something out of this world.
This would look fantastic at our front door.
You have to be here to feel and see what this does to you. I felt very small and humble walking around amongst these gods. Some felt as if they could walk out of the showcase and start some form of martial arts around you.
Beautiful tended gardens to walk around. The scent from all the flowers and shrubs is beautiful. Butterflies hover around, and you get the flash of brilliant colours as birds flit from tree to tree. I could easily fill pages up with pictures. These are just a few of them.
What a wonderful experience this day here has been, something I will always remember for many years to come.
My picture of the day has to be from the statue that we saw in the gardens. See you all next week.

I have finally filled in the background of the picture just doing a loose shading. I still find this difficult to do. Making sure I don't end up with a halo around the mother and child, and being careful not to overdo the rubbing in and blending, or I get the board showing through.

Do join me next week to see what the next project will be.
