Hi to everyone,
I would also like to thank Jayne a good friend and our dog groomer for her lovely comments on this blog. It is always nice to know that somebody is enjoying reading it. Makes writing it all the more worthwhile and the brain cells going.
This week we are not on safari, thought we would have a change. Gives me a little more time to get the photo's out and the the old brain cells remembering.  So this week let's have a look at nature in it's own way.
We tend to walk around and not really notice some of the beautiful and weird or even ugly things that are right here on our doorstep.
If you are squeamish or have phobia's forget that you have them and enjoy.

We watched this small colony of ants moving a dead gecko across the paving in our garden. They managed to move it up the step by tilting it onto it's side and then back onto it's front for the long trek. Other ants came along as needed to help and when they finally reached their crack in the step so the struggle started. 'How to get something this size into a tiny crack?' We watched them pull and shove the body around. First they tried headfirst, 'no too big', then it was tail first, 'yes, that fitted, but what about the body. These ants pushed and shoved but quite sometime later, we gave up watching as it was too flipping hot standing around in the garden. When we came back a little later it was down in the crack only a little bit showing.'Ant's rule the world!!'  A very highly intelligent insect. We have seen them collect a leaf and carry it to a stream and all together get it into the water, whilst holding it, while others have climbed aboard and then  cross over the water. The sort of things you watch with great interest, but never photograph.

'It will fit!!
Going, going, nearly gone!

Now this is something beautiful

So beautiful and dainty, I think it is the Admiral Butterfly. We see a lot of pretty ones, but they never hang around long enough for you to fetch the camera!

The Nursery.
Think we are in for a lot of spiders this year!

Don't be afraid, I have not hurt anyone

Sitting out in the garden, 'George' as we named him usually came out on the tree to join us for coffee.

Feel like we are living in prehistoric times sometimes, even feel prehistoric sometimes!' no comments to that thank you'

I might only be little now, but look what I grew into .
Our ferral kittens.

Here I am chasing that big old whip snake away from the house. I look rather like a miniature cougar.

When I came across this in the garden, just had to make something of it.

Science fiction time, the attack of the monster.

Sorry, it's really a wasp eating away at an old prickly pear cactus fruit.
I saw this and had to photograph it, something unusual.

That's it for this week, we will be back on safari next time, so do come and join me.

Picture of the week is

                                                    ---------------------------------------------

Now to catch up on the art side.

Picture has slowly progressed with the background of foliage. This is a lot of twiggling and shaping and blending of colours to look like leaves etc.
