We have a few feral cats who live and guard around our property. We feed them enough to keep them hanging around us to help with any rats or mice or snakes that might be around. Having fields all around the house we have the odd carob rat nesting in a bush. There are fig trees around and wild plum trees in the fields, all very tempting for the fruit bats that flitter around at night. Think they were the ones that ate our one and only good bunch of grapes last year. Would have a house cat but our dogs do not like cats. Here is a picture of 'Watchdog' an odd name for a cat but it is always around the outside of the house. It was born neither male or female and helps look after any kittens that come along. We have had it since birth. It is rather like an unpaid nanny. It waits to eat until any other cat has eaten, but is quite a lovable cat in it's own way.You can always find it curled up in a flowerpot or hiding behind one, but always on the watch out for anything nasty that moves.

I have now finished the monkey, will have to find a name for it and also take it down for framing. Being pastel you have to frame your pictures, unlike acrylic which can be painted and then left to be hung up on the wall.
Now I will start a new picture, one of my favourites I think, the elephant. I have a special love for these beautiful creatures. I have seen how aggressive they can be, but so gentle and loving with the young in their herd, and patient when you are trying to focus them with the camera lens!! Well, maybe not always, have been charged a few times!
See you next week.
