Another day of life living here in Cyprus.
We had been out for a mornings drive to find the fisherman who's boat I had painted earlier on last year.
Thought I would leave him a framed print of his boat. We finally found his boat in a little harbour up the coast. Unfortunately he was not around but I left the picture with a nearby restaurant owner to pass on to him. When I left he was busy hanging it up on his wall to keep until the fisherman turned up.
Back home and being a Sunday we had settled down to watch a film in the afternoon, when the dogs started barking like mad. We let them out and they hared round the garden but nothing was to be seen, thought it was the ferrel cats teasing them on the other side of the fence, so I brought them back into the house and had a wander around the garden. At first nothing to be seen, but when I walked round the house, there in our drive next to the car was the last thing I expected to see, as we are a fenced in garden. A full size big black pig. Happily lying next to our car sleeping.
We knew that a local man had a kennels where he kept a pig (probably for Christmas) in the field near us, so when we saw him later on, called that we thought his pig was in our garden, had he lost his? Yes, his had gone missing.
For the next hour we should all have been on candid camera. What a laugh trying to catch this pig. It ran through the compost heap, into the hedge whilst being chased by the farmer and his sons, who tried to scramble after it and getting their shirts caught on the prickly pear hedge. We gave it some water on the hope it could be caught with the rope whilst drinking, but never try and give a bowl of water to a pig. We were all showered in water as it threw the bowl at us. Finally the man brought his pickup round which he drove down the drive, making sure he quickly closed the gate afterwards. The pig was finally cornered and hobbled with the rope and lifted in to the back of the pickup. With many thanks being called out they drove off. Peace at last.
Half expected a couple of pork chops on our doorstep for all the trouble!!

Not a lot to say on the art side, just progressing along with the picture.
Catch up with me next week.
