" To all you food lovers out there, don't forget to check on Klaus's Recipes, there are some new ones there"

Really looking forward to today, another chance to look out for the orangutans and any other creature in the forest.
It's not long before we are walking along the walkways, which are also there to protect the undergrowth of the rain forest, and to make getting around a lot easier. Can just imagine what hundreds, no millions of pairs of feet stomping around would do .
We spot a mother and her baby up the top of a tree, seems the guide did not even know she had had her young, so my first sighting was record breaking! They were to far up the tree for me to get a proper picture, and she quickly moved into the branches out of sight.

Here was a youngster being fed from the orphanage enclosure.

We are very lucky today, coming around the corner there is another one walking on the path. A gently hand came out to touch my leg as we stood and watched.

Other were swinging themselves around on the vines or branches of the trees, looking like they did not have a care in the world. How can people hurt these I do not know, or capture them for pets, even as lovable as they are. They are meant to live wild and free.

It did not seem to matter how hot and humid it was here, you just wanted to stand and watch the antics going on.Talk about what children in a playground, these were having the time of their life.

Further on there was a commotion in the bushes and two youngsters appeared. They were chasing each other all over the place.

One had some kind of fruit in it's mouth, which the other was trying to pinch.
One of them shot through the bush in front of us and with a leap jumped onto me. It put it's arm around me and nuzzled into my neck. The thrill of it, this was something out of this world to me. Then came some loud shouting from one of the guides 'You must not touch them, put it down'. It had all happened so quickly, Klaus did not have time to take a photo, we were a little stunned by it all. I did hear some other camera's clicking away though. The ape was taken off me, and it quickly jumped into a tree nearby.
These pictures are of my cheeky little friend.

This certainly made the day for me and the feeling of that little hairy baby clinging to me is something I will always hold dear

Today has really been a special day, we were very lucky to have seen so many of these beautiful creatures, a day to always remember.

Before we left a couple of adults turned up at the feeding platform for a lazy snack and a afternoon siesta!

The picture of the week just had to be this one, a time I will always remember. Do join me next week for another day here in this beautiful country. There is still so much to see.

Back to another week of art. I am continuing to do some more of the dress, and I have now started a base on the babies face. The photo shows a rather light pinkish face, but the brain tells me it should be darker. This is where  I sometimes have trouble trying to do what the eye sees and not what I think it should be.
Join me next week to see if the eye or the brain won!!
