Here we are again, how quickly the week fly's by.
Just had an early morning walk down to the little harbour where we have watched someone fishing last night by the light of his lamp.

Saw a stork, watching with a beady eye on some fish swimming around in a little pool. In the evenings we also watch the large crabs coming out.

Our hotel is in beautiful manicured grounds, a real pleasure to take a stroll in. There is so much to see, from plants to birds, insects and fish in the ornamental ponds. Big human fish in hotel pool as well!

Here we are looking out into the South China Sea, and yes, we had a go on one of these para gliders. I have a fear of heights, but loved this. The feeling of flying up in the sky, the freedom of it all, I would do it again anytime. It also helped me loose a lot of my fear of heights funnily enough. We did a lot of things on this holiday I never thought I would do. Scuba diving off the coral reef. I was lucky enough to have the diving instructor, a little elderly Japanese man and his nephew who he was training. I was on my own with them, not like some in a large group. They showed me so much and were so caring as this was my first time scuba diving. Something I would still love to do again, but boy was I tired after it all. Must have swam the whole of the China Seas, or it felt like it. A mature turtle came to swim with us, I felt truly honoured by it all. Only wish I had had an underwater camera to have taken some pictures of it all. But the memories of it will always be there.

Today we went on one of the first railway's built. It was an experience. Locals getting on to go to work. Others off to markets with the goods. Children with such adorable cheeky grins, staring with wide eyes at us. Smiles soon came out when the sweets were passed around. Other folk sat eating breakfast out of palm leaves, some of the aroma's smelt really good, but not that keen on fish curry first thing!
We passed through little villages, palm tree leaves brushing in through the open windows, no glass and the carriages were old bench seats and open plan to the elements.
One in the train graveyard.

Stopped off in a local town and had a look around some of the shops and stalls. This was a shoe shop that just had to be see. Shoes of all colours and shapes, you could have a shopping spree here.

On the way back we stopped off at the large mosque and have a look around.

I was allowed to walk around providing I cover up. The  long coat and head shawl were provided, all wrapped up in a cellophane bag. This was certainly a place of peace and I enjoyed being allowed to look around.

The beautiful tiles and decorations, and the minarets against the blue sky.

That's it for this week. Still a lot more to see and  enjoy in this country.

On the art side, the face is slowly coming on. Think I have now found the right colours to blend.
I also have to make sure it looks like skin and not a face pack!
Have started with the eyes, which might still need a twiggle or two when I have put in a little more of the face.

Catch up with me next week, she might even have a smile on her face.
