Today looks like it might be a rainy day. Storm clouds are building up on the horizon, just hope it is not going to be one of those torrential downpours. Pushing cars out of thick sticky, gluey mud is no joke, especially when it spatters everywhere.
We bundle ourselves out to our transport ready for what is in store for us! As we drive along we enjoy the cool breeze that is starting to come up. Being baked and having to cover up arms and heads every so often to bring some relief from the sun, today being that little cooler is lovely. Animals hopefully will be out and not sheltering from the heat under trees and bushes. There might even be a little less dust if we get the rain. Everything gets a good wash.
Basking at the side of the track we come across this monitor lizard next to the river. It can very quickly disappear into the water if needed.
Passing along by the river, we hear the grunts from the hippos basking in the water, these have become our alarm clock in the mornings these days. They can certainly wake you up from the heaviest of sleeps.
Bumping along a little track always looking for the elusive leopard we come across a troop of baboons. You could sit for hours to watch their antics. Little ones riding cowboy style on the adults, others swinging from their tails, things picked up from the road and so carefully examined. Squeals of delight when something to eat is found, and other squeals of anger when it is pinched away.Just like a playground full of noisy and boisterous children, or maybe a football ground!
Do catch up with me again next week.

The African Wild Dog is starting to take shape now, just having to find the right colours to use for the fur. 'why could it not have been one colour, much easier!!
As you can see I have used the creams and some ochre and pale yellow, with the black and white starting to merge in.
Join me again next week to see how the picture is progressing.
