I never knew a bird could have so many, and it is certainly a challenge to paint.
So far so good!
Watching a film the other day reminded me of in 'the good old days' when out in Africa, we used to go the the weekly film at the Drive in.
People joke about them now, but the driving in just getting dusk, choosing which slope you parked the car on, and if the speakers worked.
You met up with friends and the whole event became a social outing.
We would order drinks and chicken and chips in the basket to sit and eat in the car. A waiter would come round to check on any further drinks.
The film always started with cartoons, so if like us you had children tucked up on the back seat, it was safe and fun for them to watch. Then an interval, which by that time the sky was pitch black ready for the film, even if raining. The girls were asleep by that time, so no worries, not that we really had any violent films. A lot got censored. The Africans and any of us loved the Elvis Presley, Pop and Westerns and good enjoyable films.
When leaving after a good fun night, you had to watch that you didn't drive off with the speaker still attached. sorry to say we did not once or twice.
'Yes' now we have a great choice of what we watch, but shut up in your houses, unless you go to the cinema, where you sit and watch, and walk out afterwards. No waving and calling out to friends, leaning on the bonnet of the car, whilst a youngster sat up on the car. Giggling and licking an ice-cream, not forgetting popcorn and 'chicken and chips in the basket'. Yum! those were the days'
'We are all watching as well. Great film'
'Hold it, I dropped the popcorn!'
'Good view from here'
'The kid's are asleep'.
Wishing you all a good week.
